Birding at Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge

On Thursday, October 22nd, I ventured out with my friend Sandra Coveny to enjoy a beautiful cool fall day at the Oak Bottoms Wildlife Refuge in Portland.

Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge is located in a floodplain along the east bank of the Willamette River adjacent to the neighborhood of Sellwood. According to WIkipedia, in 1988 the park was named Portland's first wildlife refuge, and in 2004 it was designated the city's first migratory bird park.
